Versions of Microsoft® PowerPoint® prior to PowerPoint® XP only support the VBA Project Password.

 

PowerPoint® XP and later support the following types of passwords:

 

•Password to Open

•Password to Modify (Write-Protection)

•VBA Project Password

 

Password to Open is a strong password that can be recovered with a brute-force or dictionary Attack. Read more about this Password.

 

Password to Modify can be recovered instantly. Select the document in AOPR, and the following dialog will appear:

 

 

You can copy the password to the Clipboard and open the PowerPoint® file.
