Proactive System Password Recovery (PSPR) is a tool to recover all types of Windows passwords.

 

The following types of passwords can be recovered:

 

•logon password (when the user is logged on and has Administrator's privileges)

•screensaver password

•.NET Passport password

•RAS and dial-up passwords

•passwords to network shares

•SYSKEY startup password

•passwords stored in cached credentials

•Wireless (WEP and WPA-PSK) encryption keys

•many other types of passwords

 

In addition, the tool shows all users and groups along with their properties, allows launching programs in other users' context, reveals password history hashes, reads password hashes from SAM and SYSTEM files, reads Protected Storage records, decrypts Windows scripts, reveals passwords hidden under asterisks, enables disabled controls, and runs brute-force and dictionary attacks on PWL files (Windows 9x).

 

Finally, it can display product IDs and CD keys for Windows, Microsoft Office and other Microsoft software installed, and is able to emulate POP3/IMAP/SMTP/FTP servers to retrieve saved email/FTP passwords.
